I was born in sunny Southern California and raised between both California and the Natural State of Arkansas. I grew up surrounded by a rainbow of eclectic personalities and attitudes which directly contributes to my view of the world. I was a single mother for ten years. I have a career as a marketing and public relations executive and I’m currently writing a book that I hope will inspire and empower single mothers across the globe. Ten years ago I developed the H.A.P.P.Y. Plan to help my daughter and myself adjust to the emotional and psychological impact of divorce. As the plan unfolded, I began to see the positive effects it had on my daughter and the empowering effect it had on me, so I decided to share it with others through, She’s Finding Happy.
Here’s what I believe…
Each of us begins life as a good person; it’s up to each of us to keep it that way.
Forgiveness is a gift to yourself.
Sit in silence for a few minutes each morning and be thankful for life. It will put your heart and your mind in a good place.
Love your children as if there were no tomorrow.
Always, always, be kind to animals.
Birds are God’s gift to the human race; they are here to remind us to always sing from our hearts and soar on our dreams.
Splurge on two things in life: Fabulous shoes and amazing food.
Take a hot bubble bath once a week while sipping on a glass of good wine.
Mind is over matter, period.
Embracing who you are is a key to your success as a mother and as a woman.
True happiness begins with perspective and ends in empowerment. It’s an ability to see and feel life from the inside out.
A positive attitude makes you beautiful.
Here’s to finding your Happy!!
sounds like a wonderful journey so far. i hope it only gets better!

Posted by Karista | April 7, 2010, 5:59 pmKristin, I am glad while on your journey you and your sister crossed my path. You both made such an impact in my life when we were teenagers that I could never forget you. That is why my daughter’s name is Taylor after your maiden names. I decided many years ago if I had a daughter that’s what her name would be after the two sweetest, uplifting, nicest, caring people I have ever met. I’m just so glad that while on our journey through this life that all 3 of our paths have crossed again! God Bless you!
Luv ya girl,

Posted by Tammy Kuykendall Freeman | April 15, 2010, 1:19 pmThank you, Tammy! What a sweet thing to say. You were always a bright spot during our teenage years, you always smiled, you were always kind and my life is richer for having known you. I know it has been many years since we’ve seen each other or even talked; however, I’m glad life brought us back together, even if via the internet. Take care and let’s keep in touch!!
